A second grade teacher has been awarded $6,500 in cash and money for study and travel thanks to hard work and dedication that earned her the title of Wayne County Schools Teacher of the Year.
Kristi Luckenbaugh was named Teacher of the Year Tuesday night at an annual banquet. She's been teaching 7 years and is a second grade teacher at Meadow Lane Elementary. She gets a $5,000 travel/study stipend, a $1,500 check, and will now will compete for the regional title.
The two regional finalists will receive a $4,000 stipend.
