Two hundred pages of previously unreleased documents related to academic misconduct and fraud within the UNC football team have been released by the university.
These include about two dozen letters written from UNC to the NCAA, self reporting violations and asked players to be reinstated. Many of them surround the relationship they had with a former tutor who was helping them write their papers.
The documents also reveal that athletes received meals, drinks, trips and hotel rooms from people they considered "friends."
The university argued that the athletes did not believe the benefits were improper.
