The head of North Carolina's public university system is sitting down for his annual job performance review.
Members of the University of North Carolina Board of Governors meet behind closed doors Thursday to discuss UNC System President Tom Ross's regular annual review.
The Presidential Assessment Committee will hear Ross's report on goals and accomplishments.
The 17-campus state university system hired Ross in 2010 after he'd been president of Davidson College since 2007. The former Superior Court judge and director of the state courts system has spent his more than two years on the job trying to hold down the hundreds of millions of dollars in state budget cuts to public universities.
The UNC system receives about $2.6 billion of its roughly $9 billion directly from state taxpayers.
