NEW INFO: Two Students Injured In School Bus Crash

Two high school students were injured after troopers say their bus hit a car that pulled out in front of the vehicle near South Lenoir High School.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. at Highway 11 and Tulls Mill Road next to the high school.

Troopers say the two 15-year-old boys and the driver of the other vehicle were sent to Lenoir Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Teri Mcintyre of Kinston has been charged with failure to yield the right of way. Troopers say the woman was on the side road and pulled out in front of the bus which was southbound on Highway 11. Mcintyre's 5 month old baby was in a car seat in her vehicle and was not injured.

The Highway Patrol says there were 31 students on the bus, which had one more stop before dropping the children off at school.

i am one of those students that were on the bus, i had just dosed off when i herd a girl scream, i opened my eyes and we were about to hit a car, when we did, the car turn 360, slide all the way down the median, and stopped, the yellow folding piece, in front of the bus, had impaled the car, i am just happy that no one is seriously injured and the baby is ok

Thank goodness no one was seriously injured. I see this all the time on Hwy 11 and even worse on Hwy 55 West...people pull out in front of others like they weren't even coming! Happens to me at least once everyday on my commute.

The article states she had a 5 mth old in the car with her and was pulled over to the side of the road. She may have pulled over to assist the baby who may have been crying. Please don't jump to conclusions.

No, it states she was on the side road...which would be Tulls Mill Rd. coming out to hwy. 11
