State Lottery Generates Record Funding

The state lottery has generated record funds for public education again.

The North Carolina Education Lottery announced it transferred nearly $457 million to the state for the fiscal year ending this weekend. That's including more than $100 million from sales in just the past three months. It exceeds last year's total by about $10 million.

The transfer has grown every year since the lottery first began selling tickets in 2006.
