Students will start their summer vacation one day later in Pitt County, thanks to this winter's weather.
Pitt County Schools announced on Friday that June 12th will now be the last day of school for students, instead of June 11th as was originally planned.
The last day will be an early release day, while the 11th will now be a full school day.
The extra day is because students were out this past Tuesday thanks to the sleet and ice.
The school system has already cancelled two other early release days to make up for time lost last month because of the snow.
