The Pitt County Board of Education's finance committee has decided to sideline the proposed student athlete fees.
Pitt County school officials had proposed a $20 a year per student athlete fee. The $20 per athlete fee would go toward transportation costs and supplemental insurance.
During a public meeting Thursday evening the finance committee passed a motion to put their decision off for another school year. School officials say the proposal is still on the table and will be dealt with next year.
