Things are going to be a lot different for students at Northwoods Elementary in Onslow County next year.
Northwoods will be the first in the county to be in session year-round.
The magnet school will specialize in technology and innovation.
Students will have the same number of school days as kids in other schools, but instead of having the summer off, they will have a series of three week breaks.
Starting next year, 60 percent of Northwoods students will come from the home district, while 40 percent will come from a lottery.
Kids from outside the district will have to have their own transportation.
