A Beaufort County high school that lost its two top administrators last month has a new leader.
Charles Clark has been named principal at Northside High School. Clark had been principal at Northeast Elementary School in Pinetown and taught math at Northside earlier in his career.
Clark replaces Donna Moore who resigned October 6th. Less than two week after Moore left assistant principal Mary Beth Jackson resigned. The reasons for the two leaving was never disclosed, but this summer Moore admitted that she gave away about 40 to 50 trophies and plaques that had been put in storage last year. After parents and former students showed their disapproval, the school began reclaiming the awards.
The new principal began his teaching career in 1997 at Chocowinity High School, then moved to Northside in 2000. He began his administrative career as assistant principal at P.S. Jones Middle School in 2004. He begins full time at Northside on Monday.
The school system says it is still searching for a new assistant principal for the high school.
