A school embezzlement investigation continues today, and school officials say the woman at the center of the probe may have stolen much, much more money than they thought.
Forty-three-year-old Angela Potter of Kinston was arrested in September, accused of embezzling nearly $2,700 in checks and cash from Greene county schools.
Now, the school system says Potter might have embezzled tens of thousands of dollars over six years. That's according to the Kinston Free Press, which says the SBI is now investigating.
Potter was a benefits specialist for Greene county schools. Her next court appearance is December 16th.
