Local Teacher Honored In "Teachers In Tribute" Campaign

One lucky teacher in the east got a $500.00 award Wednesday to enhance her classroom.

Kimberly Brown, a first grade teacher at South Greenville Elementary School, was one of 50 teachers recognized by RBC Bank for her commitment to her community.

As part of the "Teachers in Tribute" campaign, the bank reviewed over 2,200 nominees across six states, selecting just 50 to receive the honor.

Numerous parents of students in Brown's class nominated her, noting the enthusiasm for learning she inspires in her students.

Brown says she hasn't figured out what to do with the money yet but thinks it could be used for technology related equipment or possibly books.
