The Lenoir County School District is preparing to cut 22 positions in the upcoming year.
The school board approved cutting $1.2 million in salary for the upcoming school year. The board is looking at chopping 21 teaching positions, and one assistant principal position.
Lenoir County School Spokesperson Lidia Guzman said they hope no one actually loses their job, but that the cuts could come by not hiring replacements for people who leave or retire.
