Interim Lenoir Co. School Superintendent Could Become Permanent

One school system is working to finalize a new contract to make their Interim Superintendent, permanent.

Steve Mazingo has been serving as Interim Superintendent of Lenoir County School since July. That's when Terry Cline was let go.

The Kinston Free Press says contract work is underway to hire Mazingo full time. The school board is scheduled to vote in April. Mazingo used to work as Greene County Schools Superintendent, and briefly as interim Superintendent for Edgecombe County and the Headmaster of Parrott Academy in Kinston.
