There are only 10 days until the first day of school in Pitt County, and the school system has changed the bus route since last year for most of its students.

The full schedule is expected to be unveiled at the Pitt County Schools Board of Education Meeting Monday night.

Officials have already said the number of stops is significantly lower for the 2011-2012 school year. Last year there were 4,300 and this year there will be about 2,700, according to the Daily Reflector.

The paper also reports budget cuts forced fewer stops, but the latest redistricting made fewer stops easier.
