Former School Employee Charged With Sex Crime With Student

A former school employee is accused of a sex crime with a student on campus.

Halifax County deputies arrested Joe Edmondson, Jr. today on a charge of taking indecent liberties with a minor. The 56-year-old Edmondson was the out of school suspension coordinator at Northwest High School.

Deputies say the incident happened last Wednesday at the high school. The school system says the alleged victim is a 14-year-old student.

Edmondson was fired from his job the next day. His bond was set at $2,000 and has a court date of September 14th.

    For every teacher you read about who has been charged with these sick acts, there are thousands who do not commit such crimes. You rarely hear a news story about teachers who do not commit crimes.

    AGAIN!!!!! Another one!! The public school system is NOT safe. If I had children they would be going to a private school!

    The school has a history of teachers taking advantage of it's students. Look it up, October 1999 a teacher was arrested for multiple sex crime charges, the Principal was forced to leave the school for getting a minor pregnant, and now this guy...
