A Johnston County teacher is facing up to 61 and a half years in prison for sex crimes involving students at a school where he used to work.
Court records show Paul Canally of Clayton plead guilty to 37 charges of sex crimes involving children, including second degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Canally resigned from Archer Lodge Middle School in Johnston County, where he taught 7th grade science, in July of 2009.
Records show the crimes were reported to have occurred between April of 2010 and continued until December of 2011 at the man's home.
Investigators told WNCN some of the victims were students at the middle school where Canally taught during his tenure.
Canally's sentence carries a minimum 50 years in prison, a maximum of 61 and a half years.
