Officials say 11 students and two drivers were hurt after a school bus and a tractor-trailer rig collided in Johnston County.
The wreck happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday at an intersection with U.S. 70 near Clayton.
The bus was carrying a dozen students to Smithfield Middle School.
Seven students were taken to local hospitals. Four other students were taken to hospitals by their parents after the wreck. No serious injuries were reported.
The school bus driver and the driver of the tractor trailer also were injured. There was no immediate word on their conditions.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol says the bus was stopped to pick up children when it was hit by the rig.
