Fayetteville Teen Visits School Where She Was Shot

The 15-year-old who was shot at a Fayetteville high school almost two months ago is out of the hospital and visited her teachers.

The Fayetteville Observer reported that Catilyn Abercrombie visited Cape Fear High School on Tuesday. She had been released from Duke University Medical Center in Durham earlier in the day.

Principal Lee Spruill said Catilyn stayed at the school for about an hour, standing in a parking lot with several teachers and administrators. Students in the cafeteria waved and cheered when they saw her.

Catilyn was shot in the neck Oct. 24 while she was standing in a courtyard at the school.

Investigators don't think Catilyn was the intended target. They haven't released a motive. Two Cape Fear students have been charged.

It would be interesting to read the outcome of those two as well. Glad she has recovered and is getting around.
