It's graduation weekend for local high school students with ceremonies kicking off Friday.

The ceremonies Saturday start at 9:00 a.m. at Minges Coliseum. Four graduation commencements are scheduled Saturday for J.H Rose, Ayden-Grifton, North Pitt and D.H Conley.

Friday night it was Farmville Central and South
Central seniors putting on caps and gowns. Farmville Central student Isaiah Brown says the road to his diploma wasn't easy, but he brought his GPA. up to a 3.5 by the end of his senior year.

Even though he's excited for what's next, he says there's plenty he'll miss from his high school experience.

"The people, the friends. the look on the teachers' faces when they pass back your grades and you got an A, because it makes their day as much as it makes yours," said Isaiah Brown.

Brown says he plans to go to Pitt Community College for a year, before attempting to walk on to the football team at East Carolina University.

Feel free to give a shout out to your friends and family graduating in eastern Carolina this weekend by leaving a comment on this story.
