ECU and the former advisor to The East Carolinian have reached a settlement after the advisor was fired in January.
Paul Isom was let go as director of student media, two months after the student newspaper printed a nude picture of a man streaking during an ECU football game.
A news release from both parties states Isom will receive $31,200, which is the cost of health insurance and salary for six months at his former pay rate. He will also be allowed to resign.
ECU had said Isom was removed because of a difference in philosophy. Isom said while he disagrees with his termination, he believes a settlement is best for both him and the university.
