Money Matters To Kinston Charter Academy

School administrators, parents and students from Kinston Charter Academy are on a mission.

They plan to attend the school board meetting to urge the county to release hundred of thousands of dollars they say is owned to them by law.

The charter school claims Lenoir County Board of Education has failed to pay over about $833 thousand dollars to Kinston Charter Academy, and about $294 thousand to Children's Village Academy, since 2005.

They recently sent a letter to state representatives William Wainwright and Van Braxton - asking them to compel the board of education to turn over the money.

School officials have previously told us that it was a legal matter and it would be handled in the court system.
