Two passengers in a senior citizens van were injured after their vehicle collided with a school bus in Jones County Wednesday afternoon.
No children were on that school bus as it was returning from its route for the day. The other vehicle was a Craven Area Rural Transit System van.
The crash happened around 4:25 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 41 and 10 Mile Fork Road, north of Trenton in Jones County.
Troopers say the school bus struck the van in the side. The Highway Patrol is not sure whether the van ran the stop sign at the crossroads or pulled out in front of the bus.
A total of three passengers were on the van. Troopers say the two passengers hurt went to CarolinaEast Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
