Middle School Gets Makeover

One school in the east has a new look thanks to a grant from Lowes Home Improvement.

C.B. Martin Middle School in Tarboro received a 25-hundred dollar "Hero's Grant" from the home improvement chain.

Fifteen Lowe's employees volunteered on their day off to upgrade the landscaping around the school.

Overgrown flower beds and dying bushes were removed and new flower beds and pine straw were put in their place.

Landscaping timbers were cut to frame the new beds, and give the school an updated appearance.

Community organizations can apply for the annual grants on the company's website.
