Sixth Graders Need Vaccines

Parents of sixth graders need to know, time's about up for their children to get their T-DAP vaccines.

State law gives parents 30 days from the first day of school to have students up to date on their vaccines before the child starts getting sent home from school.

Children who have already received T-DAP or have had a tetanus booster in the past five year need only to present proof of immunization to the school. Those who need the vaccine can call their family doctor or county health department.

Sorry, but it's not as simple as filling out a form. You must have actual medical or religious exemptions. Very, very few people meet the guidelines to skip any vaccines.

Please report the rest of the story and say the parents are also able to fill out a religious or medical exemption form also. Thanks. They are not required to get the vaccine if they fill out this form and they need to know there is another option available.
