The parking spots were all full and students packed into classrooms Tuesday. It was the first day back for Pitt Community College students.

This fall semester, school administrators say they've seen a record amount of people enrolling.

They believe they've had 7 percent increase, but are expecting it to be even higher at 10 or 13 percent once everything is finalized.

Dr. Spell says he believes it is a direct reflection of the recession and bad job market.

He says they've also seen a dramatic increase in financial aid applications.

Spell says the college is doing the best it can to meet the needs of its growing population.

Yes, this is a great thing. But remember we are in a state budget crunch, which means we have to limit our paper usage, ink usage, copying, etc. As well as we have no budget to buy supplies. Now, Beverly Perdue how is this?
