Beaufort County School Dress Code Changes

It might be hard to believe but back to school shopping is right around the corner, a heads up to parents with kids in the Beaufort County School District, dress codes have changed.

The school board decided on three main changes this year:

1. Graphic and screen-printing is now allowed on school clothes but nothing can be offensive, like alcohol related graphics.
2. Embroidery is also allowed.
3. Any size emblems are now permitted as well.

Beaufort County School Spokeswoman Sarah Hodges tells us, “It is a little bit less strict but students will still look very professional.”

A first time offender will get a warning a second offense means a one day in school suspension.

I'm sorry to say, but uniforms suck how are kids supposed to express them selves if we're wearing a stupid uniform change this law now before i go insane from looking the same as everyone else in school.

how are we students suppose to look professional when were still in school.we are still young and should enjoy being young just because you think your an adult doesnt mean you know everything students can learn from you and you can learn from us.

The things in school i hated, but think they need back is prayer and paddlings. Some idiot thought that was the worst thing for children and it looks like the oppisite. The dress code wouldnt then be an issue.Kids would just walk the line. Text? Why is that important in school? Teachers should be allowed to stomp on the phones being text on. But let me guess,.some of the brats in here would probably say "I wished they would!" Wait till you become an adult and face authority with that attitude. You wont be texting and will be given a new dress code, told when to wake up,when to sleep, when to eat, when to take a shower, and still be talking stupid. Grow up already.

The things that I have read sounds like a few people are headed down the wrong road. I have been out of school now for 17yrs. And when I graduated I went to work in a factor and I really hate it having people tell me what to do. By the way we didn't have dress code we wore what we wanted. But what I am trying to say is get all the education you can now because the way the world is going your going to need it. Now I am in college at BCCC going for hair I wish I had did it when I first got out of school but I keep telling myself it's never to late. All I have now left in school is two more semisters. So what I am trying to say is do the right thing don't worry what people think go to school and make something of your self.
