Beaufort County's interim school superintendent will stay a lot longer.
The school board has voted to extend William Rivenbark's contract through June 30th of next year.
In January the board voted to hire the retired Craven County superintendent on an interim basis to replace Dr. Jeffrey Moss. Moss left to lead the Lee County school system.
The school board held a series of forums earlier this year on choosing a new superintendent, but there's no word on a timetable for Beaufort County to name a permanent head of its school system.
