Dozens of students are getting an up close look at "Carteret County's bounty " this week, as they take part in the Brad Sneeden Science Academy along the coast.
The Brad Sneeden Marine Science Academy is named after the late Carteret County superintendent who died unexpectedly last year. Now, children are able to take boat rides, learn about and touch different types of marine life, and discover what's slimy under the sea -- all while honoring his memory.
The camp will continue through the remainder of the week at Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort.
