Kennedy Home School Will Close At The End Of The Year

The Lenoir County school board voted Tuesday night to close the Kennedy Home School because of budget constraints. It's hoped the school system will save around $400,000.

According to their website, students at the school are residents of Kennedy Memorial Home, a campus where kids temporarily live, and was once called an orphanage.

The 26 students currently going to Kennedy Home School will now transfer to other schools in Lenoir County.

Yes it was once an orphange. My two brothers were put there by my mother around 50years ago. She did not put them up for adoption and they came home after staying there for 5 years. My mom was a single parent back then and could not take care of three kids at the time. Back then it was a thriving good school and had wonderful people working there. Dont knock something you evidently dont know anything about Kimo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once called an orphanage??? What is it called now??? Oh well... As long as the new school is staffed by union teachers, everything will be fine.
