ECU Gets $500,000 Grant For Business Students

Students studying business strategy at East Carolina University will get support from a $500,000 grant the Greenville university has received from a bank.

The school said it received the grant Friday from RBC Bank to pay for textbooks and course materials in the "Strategy First" course. The freshman class is built around using Business Week magazine as the class text.

The gift to the College of Business was announced by RBC official Steve Jones, who also is chairman of the university's Board of Visitors.

RBC's gift will affect more than 700 undergraduate students who take the class each year.
