A battle at an Eastern Carolina Church Thursday used possibly the best defense of all, knowledge from books.
It was the 19th annual Battle of the Books which was held at Saint James United Methodist Church in Greenville.
Students were given just 20 seconds to answer random questions from more than 25 books they had to know inside and out.
A total of 13 schools participated in the event.
School officials say this battle between students is no walk in the park.
The winner of the battle was C.M. Eppes Middle School.
This event has been going on since the early 90's.
