A high school in the east is a $100,000 richer today, after winning a nationwide contest.
Washington High School was surprised with the $100,000 prize from U.S. Cellular's "Calling all Communities" Campaign. Students and faculty learned of the honor Tuesday afternoon during a surprise assembly.
The school was one of 10 that received the most votes in the contest. The cellular company says 6,500 schools across the county were nominated.
Washington High will use the money as they see fit.
