Drag Queen Becomes Homecoming Queen

George Mason University students have elected a drag queen as homecoming queen.

Student Ryan Allen beat out two women for the title at the small school in suburban Washington, D.C., famous for its run to the Final Four a few years back.

Allen competed under his drag queen persona of Reann Ballslee.

Allen, who is gay and performs in drag at nightclubs, said he entered as a joke. But he considers the victory one of his happiest moments and proof the school celebrates its diverse student body.

The senior from Virginia's Goochland County won the pageant about a week ago at a sold-out homecoming basketball game against Northeastern. George Mason's basketball team pulled off a string of upsets to advance to the Final Four in 2006.

That is not proof that the school celebrates the diversity of its students! All of a sudden I just got a pic in my head of some guy wearing a wig and a dress delivering an emotional speech about his grand "victory", while all the students snicker, & say things like "Dude! I cant believe we actually got that guy in as Homecoming Queen! And look! He's actually crying!". He entered as a joke, and I bet they nominated him as a joke, but whatever gets ya by, Allen. Whatever gets ya by....

J, you say you are strong in your faith and have no doubts. What is your faith strong in and what is that faith based on. The Bible is the word of God and it clearly states that those who abide in the sinful lifestyles of others are just as guilty as the one with the sinful lifestyle. If your faith is not based on God's word, you have created your own little personal religion, seperated from Christ, God and Christians. It is not about what you think or I think or what we may feel. It is about what God's word says about it. Abiding in the unrepenting sinner makes the abider an unrepentant sinner as well. Only God can make a worldly mind understand, I hope he makes it clear for you.

You may not be one TO judge J, but you will BE judged one day. As a person strong in faith, you should know this.

Tad. Like I just very clearly stated. I am strong in my faith and have no doubts in my mind of that. However, i am NOT judgemental and I am in NO position to judge these individuals on their choices, which again, are THEIR choices, not mine. So PLEASE, get off your high horse and don't talk down to me for not being an inconsiderate person like you. I know my way, very clearly. You might want to double check yours though!

You will be scared soon enough J. Somewhere around the same time you figure out that you were deceived into thinking homosexuality and abiding in homosexuality were not sins. Hoping you will find your way, eventually.

That's AWESOME! ha ha Way to go GMU for having a sense of humor and not being so judgemental! Its NOT disgusting. You people need a life. Its their choice of living, they can do what they want and they DONT ask you for your opinion just like you dont ask them for theirs. DEAL WITH IT. TOo bad all school aren't as diverse as this one and actually cater to EVERYONE, not just one group. I'd rather see a drag queen walking around than some of the trashy girls in Greenville with hardly any clothes on. I have my faith in God and I am perfectly okay with this story. It doesnt scare me at all.

Every one needs to wake up and start reading the Bible. It clearly says in the last days things will wax worse and worse. We are getting there fast. There is no wrong any more. And we just think it is grand. Well when that eastern sky opens and that trumpet blows and Jesus appears--then it will be to late for those who dont't beleave now.It is all a sign of the comming of Jesus. The Bible is just being forefilled. All I can say is get ready--time is running out.We are in the last days.

I used to wonder why women wanted to and had to fight for thier rights so hard, now I see why. We are going to have to do it again soon. Men wanting to have children, be in beauty pagents, starting daycares, wearing pantyhose even. Its discusting if you want to know, and its wrong. Maybe not to the average joe, but to a moral person it is. Women, we must stand up about things like this, soon we will be swept under the rug, men will not need, or want us anymore.

That is totally disgusting.. ..I'm wondering was a lesbian picked as the homecoming king. If you're going to be homosexual.. then be homosexual... but don't flaunt your flamboyant lifestyle like it's special because you're into the same sex.
