Progress For ECU Dental School & Family Medical Center

Construction on the grounds for the family medical center and the dental school in its beginning phase Thursday.

Crews started moving dirt to lay the infrastructure at both the facilities on the campus of East Carolina University. Right now, they are digging out the tunnel which will run between the dental school and the family medical center. This is a positive indicator for a facility that has been put on hold, due to legislative cuts in the budget. John Durham, with ECU, says the school is expected to open to students in 2011 and they plan on being ready.

Although this phase is currently taking place it will still be a while before the building phase begins. While crews are laying the ground work, a portion of the parking lot near the back of the health sciences building will be closed off.

I realize that this thread is dead, but for future reference, Daves silence proves his troll worthiness WITN. Crickets say chirp, chirp...

JD Ladd: Of course the size of the city was taken into account. These cities are very roughly similar to Greenville in size (that is why I chose them); but even this is totally irrelevant. You see, The FBI Crime stats that I received the data from is per percentage of the population.

Barry have you ever considered the size of these cities in comparison to Greenville?

Congratulations ECU! Dave, the emotionally troubled troll and "scholar" from Pennsylvania who so badly wants to leave his in-laws house here locally to return to his Pennsylvania Utopia: Yesterday, I gave you eveidence that the usage of alcohol and drugs is higher in Pa. vs N.C., subsequent to another poorly considered trolling post about alcohol usage here in NC. Today, let me provide you three roughly similar sized cities to Greenville in Pa and report violent crime rates per FBI Crime Index. A non-scientific sample of 3 Pa. cities- Allentown, Reading, Harrisburg: ALL have higher rates of murder, rape, robbery, and assault vs. Greenville. Can our crime rates be better? Certainly so. Just giving you more FACTS to ignore as you continue to display an on-line virtual Rorschach test of neurosis. Keep lining up your bowling pins and I might knock 'em down. Or I may ignore you as your postings are predictable, repetitive, and lame. A graduate student in English you are, LOL!!! Good luck.

With the way the gang violence is increasing in Eastern NC it's a good thing that ECU has all of this medical stuff happening.

Look at the vast improvement in medical care in eastern NC since ECU's medical school opened almost 30 years ago. I expect the same for dental care once the school starts rolling out graduates. This is good for eastern NC!
