The manager of a yogurt shop who reported being robbed Sunday night at a bank now finds himself behind bars.
Greenville police say Jimmie Clark, Jr. is charged with larceny by employee. They say the 32-year-old Plymouth man is the manager of Loreta's Frozen Yogurt on Greenville Boulevard.
On Sunday Clark told police he was the victim of an armed robbery of the business' bank bag at East Carolina Bank on Memorial Drive. Police say their investigation discovered missing funds from the yogurt shop over the past several months, and their evidence show Clark most recently took money from the safe around June 26th.
The day before the robbery report at the bank, police say they responded to a burglar alarm call at Loreta's. Surveillance video showed a man with his face and hands covered came in using a key. He attempted to disable the alarm, and then left using a key to lock the door. A police news release says police have not yet identified that man.
Clark was jailed on a $10,000 bond. Police say they are still investigating the validity of Sunday's robbery at the bank.
