Woman Charged With Raping Teen

A Newport woman is charged with rape after deputies say she had a sexual relationship with a 15 year old.

Josslyn Blumenthal was arrested Tuesday by Carteret County deputies, charged with statutory rape and crime against nature.

Deputies say the 23-year-old woman was an acquaintance of the teen and that the rape happened in August. Blumenthal was jailed on a $5,000 bond.
