An Elizabeth City woman is being held on a charge of killing her 90-year-old mother.
The Daily Advance of Elizabeth City reported that 68-year-old Norma Raper is accused of second-degree murder in the Sept. 5 death of Betty Baum. Raper was jailed Wednesday at Albemarle District Jail after a Pasquotank County grand jury indicted her this week.
Authorities say Baum was found dead in the home that she and her daughter shared.
The North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner says an autopsy has been performed and information on the cause of death is pending.
