Greenville police have identified the man they say hit a woman with his SUV outside Walmart on E. 10th St. in Greenville Thursday night as 27-year-old Brandon Yaw.
The woman hit, 23-year-old Jessica Anderson, died from her injuries several hours later at the hospital, according to Greenville police.
A news release this morning from police indicates that Yaw and Anderson were acquaintances. It goes on to state that "at this time, the crash is not believed to be intentional."
Police report they arrested Yaw in Grimesland a short time after the hit and run in Greenville on unrelated warrants. Additional charges are forthcoming, according to police.
According to her family, Anderson tragically lost her baby girl last year, when the six month old died unexpectedly.
According to online information, Yaw was convicted of a previous hit and run in July 2008. His record also lists convictions for felony breaking and entering, possessing stolen goods, obtaining property by false pretenses, larceny and DWI.

Officials have not said if they have identified the driver of the SUV which witnesses say hit the woman and took off from the Walmart at E. 10th Street.

Greenville Police say about 9:15 p.m. Thursday, a woman was hit by a vehicle as she was walking in the parking lot of the Walmart on East 10th Street and appeared to be seriously injured. Police are looking for the driver of an SUV which reportedly hit the woman.
Officers were still on scene about an hour later and had closed off the store entrance near where the woman was hit.
Witnesses say the woman was taken away by an ambulance. One witness tells WITN the woman was walking near the entrance of the Walmart when the vehicle rammed into her.
Police have not released the name of the victim or the suspect yet.
Greenville police said they anticipate releasing more information on the hit and run investigation around 7 a.m. Friday.
