A woman is under arrest on charges she intentionally started a fire at a New Bern grocery store.

The New Bern Police Department charged 43-year-old Debra Johnson with burning of personal property and burning of certain buildings. Both charges are felonies.

Fire crews were called to the Piggly Wiggly on Tatum Drive in New Bern around 1:40 a.m. Saturday for a fire in front of the building. Firefighters were able to put out the flames within a few minutes. Surveillance video showed a woman setting the drink machine in front of the store on fire, according to police. Investigators were able to identify the woman in the video as Johnson. She was arrested Monday and was scheduled for a first court appearance Tuesday.
