Wilson police say they located and arrested a shooting suspect Tuesday evening.
Warrants were issued for for 25-year-old Devaris Montreal Lucas after a shooting just after midnight Tuesday. Police announced Lucas had been arrested in the 4900 block of Caswell Pl. W, in Wilson at approximately 10:05 p.m. Lucas is now in the custody of the Wilson County Jail being held without bond. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Friday, July 15, 2011.
Lucas is charged with shooting Jamar Clente Clemmons, 26, of Wilson, on Lee Street NE in Wilson. He died at the scene.
A Wilson man is dead following a shooting and now warrants are out for a suspect.
Wilson police say they were called to Lee Street NE at 12:12 a.m. Tuesday for a report of shots fired and a subject down.
When they arrived, officers say they found Jamar Clente Clemmons of Daniel Street at the bottom of steps to a front porch. They tell WITN Clemmons had multiple gunshot wounds and could not be revived.
Police have warrants out for 25-year-old Devaris Montreal Lucas but have not arrested him yet.

Online correctional records show a Jamar Clente Clemmons with multiple convictions, including assaults with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was last released from prison in 2009.
