A Washington man accused of sex crimes with kids dating back 50 years is facing more charges for a total of 21 counts.

Merrill Wallace is now facing 11 additional counts of indecent liberties with a minor. The Beaufort County Sheriffs Office charged the 73-year-old last month with two counts of first degree sexual offense and eight counts of indecent liberties with a minor.

Wallace posted bond and is on electronic house arrest.
Six different victims have been identified during the investigation.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office says a man accused of recent sex crimes is also suspected in sex offenses with children dating back 50 years.

73-year-old Merrill Wallace of Cedar Lane in Washington was arrested Friday after reports of a sex offense last year. He is charged with two counts of first degree sexual offense and eight counts of indecent liberties with a minor. He was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $150,000 secured bond.

Deputies received a report of a sex offense that occurred in August 2012 at a home on Cedar Lane in Washington. Investigators say they discovered additional victims had contact with the same suspect. Deputies say the victims were juveniles when the offenses occurred.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.
