Wallace-Rose Hill High School rising senior running back Omar Carr was arrested on multiple drug charges according to the Wallace Police Department.

Carr has been charged with sale of a schedule 1 controlled substance, sale of a schedule 2 controlled substance, Conspiracy to sell and deliver schedule 1 and schedule 2 controlled substance, and two counts of trafficking opium or heroin.

Each charge is a felony.

According to Captain Trey Giddeon, Carr turned himself in at the Kenansville courthouse on Monday after receiving word that he would be served a warrant for his arrest. Carr's mother and Wallace-Rose Hill head coach Joey Price accompanied him to the courthouse.

Carr is scheduled to appear in Duplin county court July 15 at 9:30am.
The 17-year old has one prior misdemeanor charge of simple possession of marijuana dated April 14, 2011. A July 26, 2011 court date has been scheduled for that offense.

Carr was named the Most Valuable Player of the class 1A championship in each of the past two seasons. In 2010 he led the Bulldogs with 1,820 yards and 23 touchdowns. His 138 total points was 20-percent of Wallace-Rose Hill's total offensive output of 688 points.

It was Carr's two-point conversion in 2009 which gave the Bulldogs their first championship since 1994.

I do not know coach Price personally haveing only delt with him by interviewing him before the East Championship last season vs. Plymouth, but by reading this story you can tell he is a good Christian man. Carr is a very good football player, but when he messed up, coach Price didn't turn his back on him. Carr will not be able to play until this is delt with in the courts per NCHSAA rules. Coach Price knows he probally will not have Carr this season and it would have been easy for him to just walk away. My hat is off to coach Price for going with this young man to face up to what he has done. Maybe Coach Price is the only male influence in Carr's life. I hope Carr deals with this like a man, and I hope coach Price continues to show christian love to him. Maybe something good can come out of this bad decision.

Think that this is terrible! Some ppl think it the way they have to live because the economy is so messed up so they turn 2 this junk 2 make money! Not all kids have a father figure but it doesnt mean they are all bad because of it! This boy's future cud be over and some of you are gloating like its good! Karma is a mutha so watch yourself, better yet your children!!! I think the coach is very loyal because he did not have to go with this young man. STOP JUDGING PEOPLE because they aint doing what you would do such as turn your back on a kid that needs help...one day your child may break your heart! Thank God there are some good ppl left in this world!

If NC State was willing to sign Peter Singer, as they did in 2010, with his criminal history, then its clear NCSU will sign just about anybody. "The 17-year-old Singer was arrested June 16 for a traffic stop, and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing of a handgun by a minor, a misdemeanor charge of consuming alcohol under age and an infraction of possession of an open container and driving after consuming alcohol." - STAY CLASSY NC STATE -

Ley me first say some of you people make me SICK!! You bash Joey Price and want to some how blame him for the mistake that one kid makes out of the hundreds he has coached. I don't get it!!! Joey Price is a GREAT CHRISTIAN MAN who just happens to be a good football coach. Joey is a member of my church so I know first hand. This man loves these kids but he is still not to blame for mistakes they may make in life. Jeseus Chirst even had 1 bad apple out of the 12 men who walked beside him. Secondly before you judge anyone, you might want to look in a mirror!! I am a WRH grad and hate it for Omar. This kid had a God given talent most can only dream of. Yeah he plays 1A ball but that doesn't matter. Talent is talent and now because of a bad choice that talent may no longer be seen. I think instead of judging him from the start, maybe you should say a PRAY for him. Footbal is no longer important, his life is!!! SO FOR ALL YOU BASHERS WHO ARE MAN ENOUGH TO GIVE A COMMENT, BE MAN ENOUGH TO GIVE YOUR REAL NAME!!!! And for those of you who may have doubts or even say you have lost some respect, come out to any BULLDOG game this fall and meet OUR COACH...JOEY PRICE!!! You'll find him after every game with HIS TEAM AND THEIR FANS gather some where close to the 35 yard line. Coach Price standing in the middle of his team on one knee circled by us fans giving GLORY AND THE GAME TO HIS FATHER...JESUS CHIRST!!!!!

He deserves to be punished for this crime and the others that have magically disappeared. As far as the coach - my family and I have lost respect for him a long time ago. And yes, my children will attend WRH - it is not good. I believe the coach is a christian, but God's Word tells us that we have to pay for our crimes - He is a merciful God, but He is also just. The walls are starting to tumble down. Praying for the family and hoping for justice - now and for what has been done and swept under the rug....

walk the walk, talk the talk - what is this going to do for the team and school morale? Enough is enough - do what is right for the school - not one young man who is obviously not interested in doing what is right

Aren't most drug dealers drug users? Hadn't heard anything about drug testing. What about supporting the people that he sold to. What if it was your kid? Would you be saying of poor boy, he is such a great football player. Drug dealers don't care who they sell to....13 year olds, 25 year olds,or 75 year olds. Money is what the name of that game is. How about the drug company that the drugs were stolen from, did we say poor owner or poor manufactor. Have you never seen an anyone that has died from being addicted to drugs? No amount of funeral home makeup can hide the affects of that. Drugs, no matter what kind....wrong is wrong! It makes me sick as a parent to think that drugs are so close to home, in our schools and in the football locker room. Please people, support all that are involved and all that could have been involved.
