(NBC News) City crews in Cleveland are demolishing what has been described as a house of horrors, the home where Ariel Castro held and tortured three young women for nearly ten years.
Bulldozers and backhoes began tearing-away the walls of the house early Wednesday morning.
Michelle Knight, the woman held captive the longest, returned to watch the demolition with yellow balloons and a message of hope.
"I wanted to be here today because no one was there for me when I was missing, and I want the people out there including the mothers that they can have strength they can have hope," Knight said.
