Victim Follows Gunmen, Calls Cops After Greenville Armed Robbery

Police say they were able to nab four suspected armed robbers after the victim followed their getaway car and called police. One of the suspects is a former ECU student.

Greenville police say Dominique Jackson, Brandon Miller, and Malik Maye, all from Raleigh, and Rason Avery of Garner are charged with the 12:30 a.m. robbery outside the Harris Teeter on South Charles Boulevard.

Police say 19-year-old Michael Jenkins was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by a former college classmate, Dominique Jackson. They say Jackson pulled a handgun and took the man's wallet and iPod, while the other three men also pointed guns at him during the robbery.

After the four gunmen left, Jenkins followed them and called police. Officers stopped their vehicle on Stantonsburg Road, near Allen Road where the four were arrested. Police say one weapon was recovered and Avery was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

East Carolina University says Jackson was a student this spring, but is not currently enrolled.

Bond for Avery was set at $70,000 while the other three have $50,000 bonds.
