Vanceboro Police Chief Fired

A Craven County town is looking for a new police chief after a shake-up in the department.

Vanceboro Police Chief William Turner was fired last month, according to Mayor Chad Braxton.

Turner had been with the town for just over three years.

No immediate reason has been given for Turner's dismissal, even though state law requires the town to write a dismissal letter and make that available to the public.
