Kinston police are looking at whether two shootings in the same neighborhood Saturday are related.

The first shooting happened around 2:20 p.m. at an apartment in the 900 block of East Bright Street. Police say that's when a bullet hit the front door of the apartment. The resident told police they heard several gunshots just before their apartment was struck.

Minutes later officers got a call to the 300 block of South McDaniels Street, just about a block away. There they found a bullet had hit the home and was lodged inside.

No one was hurt in either shooting, and police say they are continuing to followup on all leads.
