Two Charged With Possessing Gun At School

Two Wayne County students are in a juvenile detention facility after deputies say they had a a pistol at a middle school.

Deputies say back on February 1st they received a report of the two with a gun at Rosewood Middle School. When deputies arrived the two were found some two miles from the school and a .45 caliber pistol was seized. The two were released to their parents.

Since then, juvenile petitions charging the two with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm by a minor have been obtained as well as possession of the weapon on school grounds.

Deputies say the two were not students at Rosewood, never entered the school and had no contact with students.
