Two Charged In Connection With Church Thefts

Two Goldsboro men are facing charges after police say they stole copper downspouts and a window air conditioner from an area church.

Maxwell Smith, 19, was arrested for obtaining property by false pretense and possession of stolen goods while William Kastner, 20, is charged with larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Goldsboro police say the thefts happened October 6th at St. Luke United Methodist Church on East Pine Street.

Police say a Wayne County deputy helped them in identifying the two suspects.
