Efforts to restore power ran into a roadblock after authorities say two people stole an electric truck and led troopers on a chase through three counties.
NC Highway Patrol Troopers say around 3:00 Tuesday afternoon Merritt Lee and Amber Hansen stole a Four County Electric pickup truck in Maplesvillle in Pender County.
Troopers attempted to pull the truck over in Beulaville, Duplin County
Troopers say Hansen jumped from the pickup on Highway 241 as it was going 40 miles per hour.
Lee continued to drive the pickup into the town of Pink Hill in Lenoir County to an apartment complex. Lee also jumped from the truck and ran through woods and into a mobile home where he was arrested.
Both Lee & Hansen are behind bars.
