Troopers have charged a Vanceboro man who they say ran from an accident Tuesday night.
Jesse Mitchell was wanted for causing the accident on Highway 55 and Dover Road at the Jasper Mini Mart. He's now been charged with felony hit & run, careless and reckless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Wednesday morning the Highway Patrol asked the media to post his picture, and within a couple of hours they say that lead to his apprehension.
Troopers say Nancy Landeros was driving her SUV on Highway 55 with her infant and another child around 8:45 p.m.
Mitchell's vehicle didn't stop at a stop sign, colliding with the SUV, causing it to overturn, according to the Highway Patrol. The three people in the SUV were taken to CaroinaEast Medical Center and are expected to make full recoveries.
The 34-year-old man has a September 13th court date.
